Check to see if there is some utility running in the background that maps the keys differently or close all your programs (except Excel) and see if the problem goes away. Some keyboards may label the F-Lock key as the Fn key. The F-Lock key is used to turn on or off the F keys ( F1 through F12) or secondary functions of the F keys. If that doesn't do the trick, it could be that there is some program that is causing the key to behave differently. If the function keys are not working, the problem may be you have a function lock or F-Lock key that needs to be toggled. You can also try disconnecting and re connecting with other keyboard and see if you still get the same problem. If you are using a Laptop, then you can first try pressing Function (Fn) key along with Number lock or On Fn key to make changes on the number pad to do other functions. The solution is to turn off the FN key and then the zero key should work as expected. Method 1: Try to follow the below steps in order. When engaged in this manner, the zero key is performing its alternative function. Either the FN key is stuck or there is some sort of "lock" key that makes the FN key sticky. I looked at the laptop and searched online. This key is usually located nearby or on the numeric keypad. To assist you with your issue with numeric keypad, ensure that the Num Lock key is enabled.
